Model Mindfulness

Collaborations & Coaching

Outside of supporting my psychotherapy clients in 1:1 clinical settings, I love working with people passionate about mental health and wellness.

I’ve mentored and presented to mental health therapists, start-ups, executives, organizations, and communities to support their needs and teach them how to build a positive environment for growth, making wellness products digestible to the public. I find it valuable to have candid discussions about mental health and workplace wellness. Creating space for employees and therapists to feel seen outside their professional roles is energizing. It may not be easy to balance business needs and goals while maintaining our humanistic need for empathy and connection, but I am here to support you with balancing both.

What Model Mindfulness means

Before I attended higher education and the"Model Minority Myth”, I lived blindly to its negative impact on my perception of life, what it means to be Asian, and how it impacted my value to the world. Through social-justice-oriented courses, I learned about my internal struggles due to pressures within my culture and society. The myth insinuates a "positive" stereotype that all Asian Americans are polite or submissive, intelligent, hardworking, well-achieving, and so much more. Despite the positive spin, the myth is harmful because it dismisses the varying challenges and racism that Asian individuals face. I continue and will aim to model mindfulness of my privileges as a working professional, family history and background, impact and intentions, and personal challenges navigating a systemically oppressive society. Modeling mindfulness teaches me to be aware, present, and engaged with the intention of disrupting these harmful patterns.

Model Mindfulness started as a passion project; to represent diversity in the mental health and wellness field and to be a familiar and representative face to communities of color. This passion project has grown into an exciting professional collaboration and coaching service where I continue to support people and organizations as we maneuver and disrupt systemic oppressive issues, create positive impact on community wellness, and practice modern ways of working as growing professionals. We can achieve our personal and workforce aspirations in a dedicated space to develop and improve from the top down.
